A new series about a college student in need of funds is now available on iTunes. Rather it should be called Sugar Daddy dating which reflects the current trend in college girls who would rather get paid to date than just wake up with a pizza box and beer can in the bed and wonder who they hooked up with last night.
Christine Reade (Riley Keough) is a second year student at Chicago-Burnham Law School and a new intern at a prestigious firm. Working hard to establish herself at the firm, her focus quickly shifts when a classmate introduces her to the world of transactional relationships. Known as GFEs, they are women who provide “The Girlfriend Experience”(click on image for iTunes) —emotional and sexual relationships at a very high price. Juggling two very different lives, Christine quickly finds herself drawn into the GFE world, attracted (should say addicted) to the rush of control and intimacy.
The issue is this changing world of norms, morality and sex is control. It has always been about control and this is a new way for both sides to control the “experience” of the experience. Each wants something but not wanting to disclose it now or ever, each side wants the pleasure without the pain of breaking up, divorce, or even the possibility of harm/death. College girls increasingly need funds to complete their studies, however, even with parental support, grants/scholarships and working multiple jobs is not enough. Girls have needs as well for sex as they are really real about their sexuality and like males they want it and often. They know more about themselves and know/want good sex and know when a man knows what he is doing and knows what the really real reason what the tongue is for and it’s not for speaking. They like the calmness and confidence of an older man and realize that its about pleasure not age as neither side wants to get married. They also like the ability to come and go and control their sexual needs not based on frat parties, bars or other even dangerous situations. They want sex with either sex when they need it and be with their friends and others when they need peer events.
The future is a mix of friends, intimacy and pleasure and the GFE and sugar dating is a way to engage and understand the new way we live.
